Jenny Drumgoole is a video/performance/multimedia artist and educator. For two decades, she has utilized subversive art actions to dissect our cultural fixations with celebrity, desire, and the mirage of individualism in both societal and political spaces. Drumgoole's practice, marked by the creation of personas and engagement in unconventional competitions and spaces, acts as a mirror to the absurd spectacles of American life, striving to extend the reach of art beyond traditional venues into vibrant, communal interactions.
Recognized for her contribution to the field of public art, particularly through "interventionist practices," her efforts seek to carve out new spaces for self-expression and dialogue. Drumgoole's work explores the power of art to connect, disrupt, and enrich the public discourse on contemporary culture and its complexities.
Drumgoole received her MFA in from the Yale School of Art in 2006. She is currently an Associate Professor at Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ and lives in Philadelphia, PA.
